The next three permanent repair and
hazard mitigation projects for major campus
buildings are being let out for bid by the Office of
Facility Planning and Control. The Allied
Health/Nursing Bldg. project is being advertised
today and the bids are scheduled to be received on
October 7th. The advertisements for the Student
Residence Hall will be published on September 16th
and bids will be opened on October 14th. The
Resource Center project will be advertised on
September 23rd and the bids will be opened on
October 21st. The process of evaluating the bids
received for each project, awarding the work, and
getting the contract documents prepared and executed
takes time, but we are hopeful that all the
contracts will be in place before the end of the
calendar year.
Work on the expansion and renovation of the
Residence Hall lobby is substantially complete. The
A/V contractor programmed the digital signage
display in the expanded lobby area. The contractor
installed the wall covering behind the security desk

throughout the 2nd Floor.
The contractor replacing the roof on the Resource
Center has made good progress on the initial phase
of the project. Thirty of the thirty-four roof
drains have been lowered and the temporary roofing
has been installed. They have been starting work
during the middle of the nights to reduce weather
delays and to minimize disruptions to the occupants
of the offices beneath the roof drains. However the
increased frequency of rain showers has caused some
delays.
The remaining work on the 1st Floor coffee kiosk at
the Clinical Education Building has been completed.
The contractor powered up the equipment
(refrigerators and ice machine) and made the final
connections for the coffee maker. LSUHSC Computer
Services installed and connected the cash register.
Painters touched-up the walls and door frames in the
coffee kiosk area.

door in the garage. They erected a temporary wall at
the 1st floor garage/building entrance and removed
the metal door and frame. The sprinkler contractor

5-D. Facility Services relocated the temporary A/C
