The bids for the permanent
repairs and hazard mitigation project at the Allied
Health/Nursing Building were opened on October 7th.
The bid also included an alternate to construct a
new large lecture hall on the 2nd Floor; relocating
displaced offices to the 1st Floor. The architects
evaluated the bids and have recommended that the
contract be awarded to the low responsive bidder.
The contact award process now moved into the hands
of Facility Planning and Control. Pre-bid
conferences for the permanent repair and mitigation
projects at the Residence Hall and Resource Center
have been held. The bids are scheduled to be opened
for the Residence Hall on 10/14/09 and for the
Resource Center on 10/21/09.
FEMA recently prepared a
new hazard mitigation proposal for the CSRB addition
and presented the draft to GOHSEP and LSUHSC. Early
indications are that the proposal includes the major
elements that were proposed by LSUHSC and that FEMA
will support the project as eligible for funding.
GOHSEP and LSUHSC are completing their review of the
new proposal and hope to be able to sign off on it
early next week.
