The contractor working in the Allied Health/Nursing
Bldg re-routed the acid waste line around the
auditorium column. They finished installing the structural
steel needed for the new auditorium on the 2nd
Floor. New
electrical conduits have been hung along the new
steel beams and the new ductwork is being installed
in the same location.
The contractor saw cut the pavement for the utility
trenches on the S. Roman, Perdido and Bolivar St.
sides of the new structure being constructed at the
Residence Hall. The fill at the base of new elevated
structure was compacted. Crews began trenching on the S. Roman Street
side of the parking area and they are installing
electrical conduits underground. The forms for the second level concrete slab
have been constructed and workers are installing
steel rebar in the concrete forms.
The contractor removed CMU blocks on the 1st Floor
of the Resource Center for Elevators 3 & 4. They completed waterproofing the pit for
Elevators #3 and #4 and are laying new CMU block. Crews removed the flood line mark and cleaned
the brick wall in the loading dock. They cleaned the granite on the SW corner of
the loading dock and on the south and east side of
the building. Sheet rock was hung in the new ATS room on
the 2nd Floor and workers installed electrical
conduits for the receptacles under the windows on
the Bolivar St. side of the 1st Floor.
The contractor completed wiring the light fixtures
in the small conference room and the hallway on the
8th Floor of the Lions/LSU Clinic Building. Workers painted the large conference room and
patched the walls in both conference rooms and the
Director’s office. They repaired the ceiling grid near the
lounge and restrooms. The contractor installed junction boxes for
the can lights in the large conference room and the
can lights were installed. Workers installed ceiling tiles in the small
conference room and the soffits inside and outside
the large conference room was painted. The ceiling tiles in the office areas and the
corridor area were installed. The contractor continued installing wall
panel frames and wall panels inside the large
conference room. The sprinkler heads in the office and small
conference room area have been trimmed out.
The contractor completed the asbestos abatement of
the active steam lines as part of the CEB covered
walkway project. The two abandoned pipe chases were
demolished. The contractor continues to fill and grade
the site at the patio location.
A new paved parking lot is being constructed across
Florida Ave. from the Clinic Building to provide
improved, safer and more convenient parking for the
clinic patients. The contractor mobilized equipment to the
work site and began grading the site. Crews
excavated for the storm drain pipe and placed the
drain pipe in the trenches. The storm drain connections were completed
and workers installed new drain piping. They
finished constructing the block walls for the 4 new
catch basins and backfilled the trenches for the new
drain piping.
Facility Services completed installing sprinkler
stations on the field side of the horseshoe drive at
the School of Dentistry. They completed the final grading on the field
side of the horseshoe drive. Sod was installed on the parking lot side of
the Clinic Building and field side of the horseshoe
drive at the School of Dentistry.
