Work continues on the permanent repairs and mitigation at the Allied Health/Nursing Building.  The 3rd coat of stucco was applied to the walls in the Tiger Room and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd coats of stucco have been applied to the walls above the storefronts along Bolivar Street.  Crews have also applied the 1st and 2nd coats of stucco above the storefronts along Perdido Street. They installed metal lathe and the 1st coat of stucco in the South Roman and Gravier Street stairwell.  The 2nd and 3rd coats of stucco were applied inside the 1st Floor offices above the door frames and around the columns. CMU block was laid to complete the wall around the installed ductwork along Bolivar Street.

The first re-built air handling unit (AHU) was set in place on the 1st Floor of the Allied Health/Nursing Building. The 2nd Floor AHUs are being demolished and the ductwork was installed in Room 263.  The contractor removed electrical fixtures and receptacles from Rooms 257 and 261. They poured the raised concrete pads for the domestic water pumps, the 2nd Floor air handling units (AHUs) and for the expanded 2nd Floor entrance from the walkway. Workers continued fabricating heating hot water lines for the 2nd Floor and running them to the heating hot water pumps. They began pulling pneumatic tubing for the 2nd Floor AHUs.

The contractor applied the 2nd coat of plaster in Rooms 122A, 125A, 125B of the Resource Center and at the freight elevator.  Workers removed the wooden concrete forms from the freight elevator shaft wall and patched the concrete voids of the freight elevator shaft. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd coats of waterproofing were applied to the walls of the freight elevator pit. The contractor installed one of two doorframes and a block wall in the new switchgear room.  Workers exposed the broken post tension cables in the ATS room on the 2nd Floor as they prepare to make repairs.

Workers completed installing flashing cap sheet around the steel platform columns and the conduit penetrations on the roof of the elevated structure at the Student Residence Hall and the flashing was applied to the parapet wall. Conduit was run from the transformer to the disconnect panels on the steel platform on the roof and from the rooftop transformers through the roof. The contractor also installed the generator exhaust pipe and the fire pump exhaust pipe on the roof. The contractor is connecting the electrical conduit to the new switchgear and the automatic transfer switch (ATS) and workers are running the fuel line for the emergency generator.  A crew continued laying CMU block for the wall forming the domestic water pump room and the fire pump room.

A new project at the Clinical Sciences Research Building is just getting underway.  The project will upgrade the building exhaust system; new exhaust fans will be added and a dedicated exhaust system will be provided for the BSL-3 lab.  The contractor removed the light fixtures in the 1st Floor corridor of the S. Prieur/Perdido St. quadrant in preparation for ceiling demolition.  A temporary wall was installed in the 1st Floor corridor of the S. Prieur/Perdido quadrant in preparation for ceiling demolition.  Workers removed the plaster ceiling the steel support for the ceiling in the corridor from Room 123 to Room 113.  A baseline air testing was performed to determine and document the performance of the existing exhaust system.

The contractor completed building the formwork for the grade beams at end of the covered walkway closest to the Clinical Education Building.  They completed building formwork for the main section of the walkway. The curved roof supports adjacent to the canopy at the District Energy Garage were installed and the reinforcing steel for the grade beams was installed at the canopy closest to the CEB.
