The contractor responsible for completing the permanent repairs and mitigation at the Allied Health/Nursing Building installed additional metal studs for the birthing labs on the 2nd floor and ran conduit for electrical receptacles in the labs.  Additional sheetrock was hung on the exterior of the auditorium along Perdido Street and workers started running the fire alarm conduit in the large auditorium.  The contractor installed new light fixtures in the generator room and set the electrical panel X1A and the associated transformer in Room 236.  Crews continue running conduit from the emergency generator to the ATS on the 2nd Floor and conduit to relocate panel X1A (1st Floor emergency panel). Two of four floor penetrations in the 2nd Floor network closet were cored.  Self-leveling compound was applied to the floors of both 1st Floor restrooms.  Studs for the restroom on the 2nd Floor were installed and the bathroom walls near the large auditorium were insulated. Studs were installed around the new mechanical room door on the 2nd Floor near the existing auditoriums (A and B).

The Residence Hall contractor installed three double lugs for the transformer in the vault, terminated six feeder cables and made the tap-in for the new switchgear.  The generator that will provide temporary power during upcoming outages to building power is on site.  Workers are pulling wire to a panel on the 3rd Floor through which temporary power will be provided to critical circuits in the apartments.  The exterior pre-cast concrete walls of the new elevated mechanical/electrical enclosure have been primed and the interior wall penetrations have been sealed.  Crews are painting the interior walls of the switch gear and generator rooms on the 2nd level of the new building while others began stripping the old paint in the A-tower laundry room.  Workers are roughing in the fire suppression sprinkler system in the new building.

The heating water heat exchanger in Room 221 of the Resource Center was temporarily relocated as part of the permanent repair and mitigation contract.  Power for air conditioning units in the computer center and for the elevators was transferred to the new automatic transfer switch.   The abandoned electrical conduit was removed from the 1st Floor automatic transfer switch room.  Wire for the emergency lighting was run to the new automatic transfer switch and the lightning protection for the rooftop generator is being installed.  Two doors were installed in the new switchgear room and the contractor ran electrical conduit for the desk that was relocated in the bookstore.  Workers completed the wood decking for the desk platform in the bookstore and the drywall was hung on the walls of the switchgear room inside the bookstore.  Crews began cleaning the bricks on the loading dock and continue painting the 1st Floor.

The contractor continued installing electrical conduits in the basement of the Clinical Education Building and on the 3rd Floor in preparation for relocating existing electrical panels.  They completed removing brick pavers from the loading dock area and the driveway and began the excavation near the transformer vault in preparation for relocating the underground utilities.  The concrete wall of the old transformer vault was saw-cut.  Workers continue removing parts from the elevator pit for passenger elevators 7 & 8.  Crews are installing the 10 inch pipe for the new heating hot water supply and the pipes for the old heating hot water pump in the basement are being removed.

Upgrades to the CSRB exhaust system are progressing.  The contractor connected the exhaust ductwork on the 1st Floor, connected all of the branch lines and crews are now insulating the exhaust ductwork on the 1st Floor.  The floor penetrations for the electrical conduit have been completed and the penetrations for the duct riser were cut in Rooms 432A, 536A1, 636A and 729A.  The exhaust duct riser was installed in the 5th, 6th and 7th Floor (south) mechanical rooms.  The contractor installed deionized water piping on the 1st Floor.  They continue to install ceiling supports on the 1st Floor and electrical conduit on the 7th Floor.

As part of the air handling unit replacement project at the Dental School, the contractor replaced a section of the heating hot water riser in the penthouse area. New AHUs were set above Oral Pathology and the Gross Anatomy lab and the contractor fabricated and installed the manifold system for the AHU above Oral Pathology. Workers continue to fabricate and install the chilled water lines for the AHU above Oral Pathology and run the chilled water lines for the AHU above the Gross Anatomy lab.

The contractor responsible for the energy efficiency project at the School of Dentistry replaced 96 light fixtures on the 6th Floor of the Clinic Building.  Outside the buildings, the control points for the sports fields were surveyed and marked.  Silt fencing was installed around the perimeter of the construction site. The contractor is excavating for new storm drain lines and they have begun installing new drainage catch basins.
