Workers finished installing the restroom partitions in the Women’s restroom on the 1st Floor of the Allied Health/Nursing Building and the 1st Floor restroom fixtures were installed. The contractor poured concrete for the raised seating area in the 2nd Floor auditorium and began installing the concrete forms for the auditorium ramp and stairs. Drywall is being installed in the 2nd Floor auditorium and the ceiling grid is being installed on the 2nd Floor along the MEB loading dock side of the building. The contractor started installing conduit for the light fixtures in the Tiger Room and installed the projector screen in Room 147. Wiring was installed for the lights in Room 138 and repairs are being made to door frames on the 2nd Floor. The contractor continued installing the metal track for the wood panel system and the medical gas system on the 2nd Floor.

The contractor touched up paint for doors on the 2nd level of the elevated mechanical/electrical enclosure at the Student Residence Hall and insulated the domestic water pipe on the C-tower side of the 1st Floor of the main building. Crews finished insulating the generator and fire pump exhaust pipes on the 2nd level of the new building and patched the CMU wall around pipe penetrations on the ground floor. The contractor continued insulating the 4 inch domestic water pipe on the ground floor.

The Resource Center contractor finished installing the generator fuel line on the 8th Floor and pressure tested the fuel line. Crews are welding the containment pipe for the diesel fuel line on the 8th Floor. The installation of the generator fuel line on the 1st Floor is in progress. Workers began installing the piping manifold for the domestic hot and cold water pumps in the 2nd Floor pump room. They are installing the controls on the 1st Floor air handling units (AHUs). The contractor continued installing the electrical conduit for the fire pump controller. They created floor penetrations on the 2nd Floor for the fire water piping and began installing the fire pump piping. Chilled water was connected to the two fan coil units in the 1st and 2nd Floor pump rooms.

The contractor drove an additional 86 wooden piles in the Lakeside lot at the Clinical Education Building. All of the 110 piles that will support the new elevated mechanical/electrical enclosure are now in place. Crews continued welding and installing 6 inch chilled water pipe in the basement. They continued installing electrical conduits on the 1st Floor and electrical conduits and junction boxes on the 3rd Floor while other workers continued removing the elevator shaft in the library area.

The project to upgrade the CSRB exhaust system continues. The contractor installed the exhaust duct riser for Exhaust System #4 on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Floors and began installing temporary ductwork on the 2nd Floor. Crews cut the roof penetration for Exhaust System #1. They installed the plenum support for Exhaust System #2 and the pipe support for exhaust fans 1D and 2D. Acid vent lines were relocated on the 2nd and 6th Floors.

The contractor responsible for replacing the air handling units at the Dental School continued insulating the supply duct and heating hot water lines for units 8A & 8D in the Clinic Building. Crews ran control wires for units 8A and 8D and the fire alarm devices for unit 8D were installed.  Air handling units 8A, 8B, 8C and 8D were put into operation.  The ceiling grid was installed in Central Sterilization and on the 8th Floor and ceiling tiles were installed on the 8th Floor.  Crews continued removing the ceiling on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building and removed unit 3B from the mechanical room. The drain pan was installed in the mechanical room for unit 3B. Supply ductwork and VAV boxes are now being installed on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building.

The AHU contractor continued installing the VAV boxes and running reheat lines on the 3rd Floor of the Administration Building and continued insulating the heating hot water pipe in Room 2302. Conduits were installed for the controls in Room 2302 and crews installed control wires for VAV boxes on the 2nd Floor. The heating hot water lines for unit L3A on the 3rd Floor were installed.

The building exterior waterproofing contractor working at the Dental School continued to remove the existing caulk, prepare the surfaces between the exterior building panels and install new backer rod and caulk on the west and east sides of the Clinic Building and the west and north sides of the Administration Building. They also secured three loose panels on the east side of the Clinic Building.

Here are highlights of work that has been accomplished during the past two weeks.

ALLIED HEALTH/NURSING BLDG PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:

• The contractor continued insulating the 4 inch domestic water pipe on the ground floor.

RESOURCE CENTER PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:

• The contractor finished installing the generator fuel line on the 8th Floor.
• They pressure tested the internal fuel lines on the 8th Floor.
• Crews continue to weld the containment pipe for the diesel fuel line on the 8th Floor.
• The installation of the generator fuel line on the 1st Floor is in progress.
• Workers began installing the piping manifold for the domestic hot and cold water pumps in the 2nd Floor pump room.
• They are installing the controls on the 1st Floor air handling units (AHUs).
• Workers began priming the walls in the fire pump room.
• The contractor continued installing the electrical conduit for the fire pump controller.
• They created floor penetrations on the 2nd Floor for the fire water piping and began installing the fire pump piping.
• The contractor connected chilled water to the two fan coil units in the 1st and 2nd Floor pump rooms.

CEB PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:

• The contractor drove an additional 86 wooden piles in the Lakeside lot. All of the 110 piles are now in place.
• Crews continued welding and installing 6 inch chilled water pipe in the basement.
• They continued installing electrical conduits on the 1st Floor and electrical conduits and junction boxes on the 3rd Floor.
• Workers continued removing the elevator shaft in the library area.

CSRB EXHAUST UPGRADE:

• The contractor installed the exhaust duct riser for Exhaust System #4 on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Floors.
• The contractor began installing temporary ductwork on the 2nd Floor.
• Crews cut the roof penetration for Exhaust system #1.
• The contractor installed the plenum support for Exhaust system #2 and the pipe support for exhaust fans 1D and 2D.
• The contractor relocated acid vent lines on the 2nd and 6th Floors.

DENTAL SCHOOL AHU REPLACEMENT:

• The contractor continued insulating the supply duct and heating hot water lines for units 8A & 8D in the Clinic Building.
• Crews ran control wires for 8A and 8D.
• The fire alarm devices for unit 8D were installed.
• The contractor put units 8A, 8B, 8C and 8D into operation.
• The ceiling grid was installed in Central Sterilization and on the 8th Floor.
• The contractor installed the ceiling on the 8th Floor.
• Crews continued removing the ceiling on the 3rd Floor.
• The contractor removed unit 3B from the mechanical room.
• Supply ductwork and VAV boxes are being installed on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building.
• The drain pan was installed in the mechanical room for unit 3B.
• The contractor continued installing the VAV boxes and running reheat lines on the 3rd Floor of the Administration Building.
• Crews continued insulating the heating hot water pipe in Room 2302.
• Conduits were installed for the controls in Room 2302.
• Crews installed control wires for VAV boxes on the 2nd Floor of the Administration Building.
• The heating hot water lines for unit L3A on the 3rd Floor were installed.

DENTAL SCHOOL BLDG EXTERIOR WATERPROOFING:

• The contractor continued to remove the existing caulk, prepare the surfaces between the exterior building panels, and install new backer rod and caulk on the west and east sides of the Clinic Building and the west and north sides of the Administration Building.
• They secured three loose panels on the east side of the Clinic Building.

CEB COVERED WALKWAY:

• The contractor finished installing the flashing on canopy B at the end of the walkway closest to the Clinical Education Building.
