The Allied Health/Nursing Building contractor erected scaffolding above the monumental stairs. The glass railing surrounding the staircase was removed; the structural supports for the new monumental staircase were welded in place and grouted. The contractor re-routed the walkway floor drains and installed a check valve on the 1st Floor. Additional AV conduit was run on the 2nd Floor and floor epoxy was applied to the ramp in the auditorium. Crews continued installing the metal framing for the auditorium wall panel system and sheetrock was hung on the rear wall. The Resource Center contractor continued welding the diesel fuel line casing on the 1st Floor and fire alarm system components are being installed.

The first 3 pile caps that will support the elevated mechanical/electrical enclosure at the Clinical Education Building were poured. Forms for 6 additional pile caps have been set in the Lakeside lot and the rebar has been installed. (There will be a total of 12 pile caps.) The contractor continued forming up the freight elevator shaft wall in the basement. Metal support framing for the corridor wall was installed on the 3rd Floor. Workers installed the 6 inch domestic water supply line in the basement and continued installing conduits on the 2nd and 3rd Floor.

The CSRB exhaust system upgrade contractor connected the temporary exhaust ductwork on the 2nd Floor. The existing 2nd Floor exhaust ductwork was removed and new ductwork hangers were installed. Crews began installing new ductwork and relocating fire alarms and electrical devices on the 2nd Floor. The ceiling in Room 729 was removed. The exhaust fan frames for exhaust fan systems 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the roof were welded and the pitch pockets (roof penetrations for utilities) were installed. The roof flashing for exhaust systems 1 and 2 is being installed.

Work on the air handler replacement project at the Dental School is progressing. The contractor installed heating hot water lines for unit 3A in the Clinic Building and the heating hot water lines for units 3A and 3B are being insulated. Crews continued installing supply ductwork for units 3A and 3B and insulating the new ductwork. The ceiling grid was installed on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building and control wires for unit 3A were installed. The contractor installed ceiling and light fixtures for unit 3A above the Radiology clinic area and began putting up the ceiling grid up for unit 3A. The ceiling tile was removed from Room 3312N. The VAV boxes for AHU 6A have been set in place and the heating hot water lines are being installed. The controls contractor wired the control panel for L2A in the Administration Building and crews are installing the controls for units L2A and L3A. The supply ductwork and heating hot water lines for unit L3A were installed.

The waterproofing contractor finished caulking the west side of the Clinic Building and the columns on the ground floors of the Clinic and Administration Buildings. The loose panels on the south side of the Clinic Building were repaired. Crews are washing the north, south and east sides of the Power Plant.

Here are highlights of work that has been accomplished during the past two weeks.

ALLIED HEALTH/NURSING BLDG PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:

• Scaffolding was erected above the monumental stairs.

• The contractor continued installing the metal framing for the auditorium wall panel system.
• Sheetrock was hung on the rear wall of the auditorium.
• The contractor continued prefabricating chilled water lines.

RESOURCE CENTER PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:

• The contractor continued welding the diesel fuel line casing on the 1st Floor.
• The fire alarm system components are being installed.

CEB PERMANENT REPAIRS & MITIGATION:

• The first 3 pile caps in the Lakeside lot were poured.
• Forms for 6 additional pile caps have been set in the Lakeside lot and the rebar has been installed.
• The contractor continued forming up the freight elevator shaft wall in the basement.

• The ceiling in Room 729 was removed.
• The contractor welded the exhaust fan frames for exhaust fan systems 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the roof.
• They installed pitch pockets (roof penetrations for utilities) on the roof for exhaust systems 1 – 4.
• The roof flashing for exhaust systems 1 and 2 is being installed.

DENTAL SCHOOL AHU REPLACEMENT:

• The contractor installed heating hot water lines for unit 3A in the Clinic Building.
• The heating hot water lines for units 3A and 3B are being insulated.
• Crews continued installing supply ductwork for units 3A and 3B and insulating the new ductwork.
• The ceiling grid was installed on the 3rd Floor of the Clinic Building.
• Control wires for unit 3A were installed.
• The contractor installed ceiling and light fixtures for unit 3A above the Radiology clinic area.
• They began putting up the ceiling grid up for unit 3A.
• The ceiling tile was removed from Room 3312N.
