NOTICES: There will be a chilled water outage in the Allied Health/Nursing Building beginning at 6:00 AM on Saturday, December 15th.  A contractor will be making some piping modifications and will complete the work by 7:00 PM on Saturday.  During this time there will be no air conditioning in the building.

Tomorrow morning we begin a project to resurface the elevated bridge between the Residence Hall and the Medical Education Building .  The work is scheduled to continue until January 4.  During this time the bridge will be closed to pedestrian traffic.  To minimize the adverse impact upon our students, Campus Police has graciously agreed to provide 24-hour security so that we can open the 1st floor entrance to the MEB on the Bolivar Street side each day and continuing until 5:00 PM next Friday.  If need be, we will consider the same accommodation when we reopen following the holidays until the work is complete.       

On Monday, December 17, and continuing through January 2, we will begin a project to restore the terrazzo flooring on the 3rd and 4th floors of the MEB.  This work is scheduled after normal work hours to minimize impact on our faculty, staff and students.  In addition to the sound of large buffing type machines there will be some odors beginning December 22.      

1542 Tulane Ave. :

• Stratos Elevator continues the repair work on Elevator #1; installing the new platform.
• They are also installing new door track and accessories on Elevator #8.
• Zimmer-Eschette began cleaning the ducts on the 3rd Floor. 
• The contractor is removing carpet and debris from the 4th Floor
• The crews that are removing ceiling tile have moved to the 4th Floor. 
• The final cleaning and wipe down is underway on Floors 6 and 7.  
• The contractor finished preparing the 1st Floor for the removal of damaged floor tile.

Dental School :

• The new mixing damper (7BD) arrived along with the pneumatic controls for the 7th floor of the Clinic Building .  The installation has started.

MEB Roofing Project:

• The contractor has completed the temporary two-ply for the penthouse roof.
• Asphalt has also been poured on the penthouse roof.
• The installation of the temporary two-ply material and asphalt has been completed on the front passenger elevator.
• The contractor has started some of the minor demolition on the main roof.
