1542 Tulane Ave.:
- Stratos Elevator continues to work on Elevator #1;
installing conduit and wiring for the smoke detectors in the
elevator pit.
- The contractor continues to test and make the final
adjustments to Elevator #8 and is scheduling an
inspection by the State Inspector.
- Siemens is pulling wires to the fire alarm devices on
the 5th Floor.
- Zimmer-Eschette continues to clean on the 6th Floor in
the rear of the building (old section) on the I-10 side and
the area behind the elevators.
- Zimmer-Eschette continues to remove the floor tile from
the 2nd Floor in the corridor and offices along Tulane Ave..
- The painting contractor is applying the finish paint in
the offices on the 6th Floor.
- The contractor finished floating and prepping the new
sheetrock on the 7th and 8th Floors.
- They began to float and prepare the new sheetrock on
the 5th Floor.
- The contractor began installing new sheetrock on the
4th Floor.
- The contractor finished installing new ceiling grid
"tees" on the 5th Floor to convert the existing 2' x 4'
ceilings to 2' x 2' ceilings.
- The contractor began installing new grid "tees" on
the 4th Floor.
- Boe-Tel finished terminating the station wires in the
offices on the 1st Floor.
- The contractor is building the new network rack on
the 4th Floor.
Dental School:
- Needham Roofing conducted infrared tests on the Clinic
and Administration Building roofs yesterday evening and
identified areas where the insulation got wet as a result of
the rain water intrusion during the heavy rains last week.
- The areas were marked for replacement.
- They installed 35 squares of the 2nd
(final) ply of roofing material on the west side of the
Administration Building.
- Sherlocks Construction began the floor tile installation
in the vestibule of the temporary bookstore.
- The assessment of the damage done to the freight
elevator by the intrusion of rain water through the roof
last week was completed by Schindler
- Their assessment has been reviewed and confirmed by
the State Elevator Inspector.
- A purchase order for the repairs has been prepared
and sent to Schindler. Schindler estimate a 6 week
repair timeline.
Downtown Landscaping Project:
- Crews installed irrigation pipe and electrical conduit
through the sleeves under the four sections of asphalt on
the Perdido St. side of the Residence Hall.
- They sealed the ends of the sleeves before the
anticipated rainfall refilled the holes with water.
- They Installed irrigation piping in trenches to connect
to the new sprinklers.
