The Resource Center Building ,
including the Library, will be closed on Saturday, July 26th from 7:00 AM to
5:00 PM.This closure is a necessary
part of the Library Commons renovation and will allow the contractor to core drill
the 3rd Floor concrete slab.Core
drilling is the process of drilling holes large enough for pipes to be run
through a concrete slab and may present danger to building occupants.Therefore, no one will be allowed in the
building during this maintenance.The
Library will re-open on Sunday, July 27th at 1:30 PM, as scheduled.
Clinic Permanent Repairs and Mitigation:
The concrete for the foundation of the new exterior stairwell was poured today.
1542 Tulane Ave. :
The elevator contractor continues replacing the hoist cables and Elevator #7 and repair work progresses on Elevator #4.
The contractor continued installing suspended ceilings in several offices, patching and painting offices and working on punch list items.
The sandblasting contractor commenced work on resurfacing the front steps.
Portable temporary air conditioning units are being installed in the rear elevator lobbies.
Plumbers continued capping piping and installing segregation valves in the building.
Roman St. Garage:
The painting contractor continued sealing the rooftop level of the garage.
The old groundskeepersâ€™ office on the first floor was demolished.
Perimeter Fence Project:
The contractor continues constructing the forms in Student Lot #3 in preparation for pouring concrete.
Hall Lobby Expansion:
MCC is finishing construction of the new mechanical room wall on the mezzanine level.
MDL #5 Renovations:
The contractor completed modifications for the steel support for the new partition track.
The demolition of the old plumbing continues in the main room.
The contractor continues grinding the concrete sub-floor surface in preparation for the installation of the new flooring.
Floor Ceiling Replacement:
The contractor continued framing the fur downs for the tray ceiling.
The contractor continues work on the bulk head.
Crews are erecting the framework for the new walls.
LSUHSC Facility Services electricians continue to rough-in the electrical service.
Elevator #1 in the Clinic Building was carpeted and returned to service.
Needham Roofing is coring the holes for the conduit on the Clinic Building roof.
Three of the four cores were completed and the fourth was started.
Needham repaired and welded the maintenance access ladder on the Administration Building roof.
The contractor finished removing the abandoned steam lines from the Power Plant roof and is installing cover boxes.
Crews completing cleaning the 3rd Floor ducts and
have moved to the 2nd Floor.
