Monday, September 15, 2008   1542 TULANE AVE.: General contractor continued demolition in the 3rd floor annex. Elevator contractor continued work on elevator #4. Lighting contractor installed new light fixtures in the 1st floor Family Medicine offices. Painting contractor continued painting stairwell and hallway ceilings. Security contractor installed card reader for the front door access control and made final preparations for installation of new cameras at several locations. Facility Services continued installing new fan coil units in 615, 616, and 617. Work continued roughing in plumbing in the 6th and 7th floor lounges for the new kitchenettes. ORM insurance adjusters toured the building to document Hurricane Gustav damage. DENTAL CAMPUS 6th and 8th FLOOR RENOVATIONS: Mechanical Contractor continues to core in room 8405. DENTAL CAMPUS AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS: Contractor continues to construct framing for ceiling in Auditorium B and is laying-out framing for the ceiling in Auditorium A. LANDSCAPING & EXTERIOR WORK: Landscaping contractor replanted storm damaged trees and reinstalled support cables. LIBRARY COMMONS: Plumbing contractor completed vent piping. Electricians continue to install light fixture frames. Contractor framed knee wall nearest to stairwell. LIONS BUILDING MITIGATION: Mechanical subcontractor is running lines for new Med Gas on the 6th floor simulation rooms; running supply duct on Bolivar/Gravier side of 6th floor; insulating heating hot water lines on Bolivar/CSRB side of 6th floor; insulating supply duct on Gravier side of 6th floor; rerouting existing waste lines below new ceiling height on 6th floor; and piping in the AHU in mechanical room on 1st floor on the Gravier/Bolivar side of the building. Electrical subcontractor is terminating the wire to new panel boxes on the 2nd floor in new electrical room on the CSRB side; running new wire to electrical panels on the S. Preiur side of the building; and installing outlets in new lab area on the 7th floor. Iron subcontractor was rained out today. Contractor is painting the walls on new lab on 7th floor. MEB 2nd FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATION: Electrical subcontractor is running wire for outlets in new walls for medical and campus stores. MDL-5 LAB RENOVATION: Contractor continues installing casework (unistrut frame), installing LCD panel displays, and reinstalling gas line. MEB 4th FLOOR CEILING REPLACEMENT: Contractor installed all of the fire speakers and continues installing ceiling tiles. RESIDENCE HALL LOBBY EXPANSION: Facility Services relocated pool table and furniture to the balcony to allow flooring contractor to work.
