NOTICE:As part of the new roof being installed on
the Allied Health/Nursing Building, the contractor is also putting a new roof
on the Atrium.Since the Atrium cannot
hold the weight of the tar kettle, the tar kettle must be placed at ground
level.This results in the odors
observed this week.
As
the contractor removes sections of the roof, he installs new roofing
underlayment material and applies the new roof membrane. When the contractor applies the new roofing
membrane, he uses hot tar to seal the new roof. This work will continue through the weekend until next Wednesday. After the tar work is complete the contractor
will continue installing flashing on the walkway roof through the end of next
week.
At
some point in the future, the contractor will return to the walkway roof and
install the final roofing layer, a cap sheet. The contractor will have to use tar to apply the cap.A mass email will be sent out prior to the
start of this work.
