The second shutdown of electrical power in the Lions/LSU Clinic Building is
scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2009, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.This shutdown transfers the building
emergency power load to the three new automatic emergency transfer
switches.During this shutdown there
will be normal building power (for pumps, lights, most air conditioning,
exhaust, and electrical receptacles), but there will not be any power to
All emergency lighting and emergency power receptacles will be out.Please refrain from overloading the normal power circuits.
No elevators will operate.Please note the stairwells will have no lighting during this outage.
There will be no building air conditioning for the 9th floor Animal Care facility during this time.
Retesting of the 7th Floor Resource Center
fire alarm speakers and strobes will occur on Thursday, May 28th, beginning at
6:00 AM and will last less than one hour.At the beginning of the testing, an announcement will be made explaining
that this is only a test and no evacuation is needed.It is possible that testing will need to be
repeated.If additional tests are
required, an announcement will precede each test.Testing and retesting, if necessary, will be
complete by 7:00 AM.

LSUHSC Computer Services Networking Group finished checking the phone lines on the 4th Floor and continued checking the phone lines on the 3rd Floor.
The contractor painted the new wall in the 1st Floor lobby area and the walls in Room 112.
Facility Services continued painting on the 3rd and 4th Floors.
The carpenters continue to laminate the wooden window sills in 2nd Floor offices along Tulane Avenue .
CLINIC PERMANENT REPAIRS AND MITIGATION:
The contractor installed lobby doors on the Bolivar St. side of the 6th Floor.
The mechanical contractor finished installing fixtures in the restrooms located on the Bolivar St. side of the 1st Floor.
HALL LOBBY EXPANSION:
The flooring contractor installed floor tile in front of Elevator C.
The interior contractor installed can lights in the mezzanine.
AIR HANDLING UNIT REPLACEMENT:
The contractor continued coring and installing new drains in the A and C riser mechanical rooms.
MDL 3 RENOVATIONS:
The contractor installed sheetrock around the steel track for sound insulation.
The contractor continued stubbing up the plumbing for the new casework.
PHARMACOLOGY LAB RENOVATIONS:
The network wiring contractor continued pulling network wires in the lab area.
The contractor continued installing wire molding.
HEALTH/NURSING RE-ROOFING PROJECT:
The contractor installed one-ply roofing on the parapet wall along the Bolivar St. side of the roof.
AUDITORIUMS A & B RENOVATIONS:
The contractor installed additional framing and acoustical wall panels in Auditorium A.
The mechanical contractor performed the start-up of the new auditorium AHUs and installed wiring for the AHU sensors and controls.
The electrical contractor installed the cable tray above the A/V and networking racks in Room 4202B and set the junction boxes for the network and A/V wiring in the mechanical room between both auditoriums.
Electricians installed the junction boxes for the power outlets under the A/V racks and installed conduit for the Liebert unit disconnect.
