NOTICE:  On Thursday, August 27th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon, the Fire Marshal will inspect the fire alarms in both the Dental School Administration Building and Clinic Building .  The fire alarm contractor will make an announcement to let building occupants know that the alarms are being tested and that evacuation will not be necessary during these tests.  The contractor will then activate fire alarm devices in the recently renovated auditoriums.  This will activate the fire alarm strobes and audible alarms in both buildings.  When testing has concluded, an announcement will be made so that all occupants will know that the testing is complete.

 

NOTICE:  Load testing of the Medical Education Building Emergency Generator will take place on Thursday, August 27th, from 4:00 AM – 6:30 AM.  During this two hour time period, emergency lighting, emergency power receptacles and elevator operation will switch over to emergency generator power.  Non-emergency power circuits will not be affected. There will be a brief interruption of power when initially switching over from normal building power to emergency generator power. At the end of the test there will also be a brief interruption of power when switching from emergency generator power to normal building power.   Elevator operation will be interrupted for a short period of time at the beginning of the test and at the end.  Personnel will be on site to assure the restoration of elevator service.

 

1542 TULANE AVE. :

  • The contractor installed lounge furniture and tables in the 1st Floor lounge.

 

DENTAL SCHOOL AUDITORIUM A & B RENOVATIONS:

  • The A/V contractor installed the podium monitors in Auditorium B.

 

EXTERIOR/LANDSCAPING:

  • Facility Services completed installing irrigation piping on the Gravier Street side of the Roman St. Garage. 

 

MEB AIR HANDLING UNIT REPLACEMENT:

  • Facility Services completed shifting the temporary A/C units to the 4th and 5th Floor Quadrant D (corner of Bolivar Street and Perdido Street ) and monitored their performance.
  • The contractor continuing installing new ductwork and piping for AHU 4-D and 5-D.
  • Air handling units 4-B and 5-B were delivered to the 440 Lot storage area.

 

MEB 7th FLOOR PHYSIOLOGY LABS RENOVATIONS:

  • The contractor continued roughing in the electrical service for Rooms 7221 and 7244. 
  • Crews continued patching and floating walls in Rooms 7221, 7241, 7244, and 7250   

 

RESIDENCE HALL 2nd FLOOR LOBBY RENOVATIONS:

  • The contractor installed the ceiling mount bracket for the 65 inch LCD TV in front of the mailbox area.    

 

ALLIED HEALTH/NURSING BLDG. REROOFING PROJECT:

  • The contractor installed aluminum flashing on the 4th Floor roof along Bolivar Street .

 

RESOURCE CENTER REROOFING PROJECT:

  • The contractor removed the existing stairwell penthouse roof on the Tulane side, lowered one roof drain and applied a two ply roofing system.
