The Medical Education Commission
The Medical Education Commission (MEC) was established by an act of the Louisiana legislature in 1997, and is comprised of representation members of LSU Health Sciences Center, Tulane Medical Center, Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation, and the Department of Health and Hospitals. The Commission has an annual cycle of meetings, public reports, publications, and issue discussions. The Internet interface allows us to fulfill the broad purpose of sharing Graduate medical Education (GME) data and descriptions, and the Medical Education trends nationally and in Louisiana.
