Withholding of Merit Increases for Civil Service Employees

The plan to withhold merit increases for all Civil Service employees of LSU Health Sciences Center—New Orleans has been reviewed and formally approved by the Director of the Department of Civil Service.  It will apply to all classified employees whose anniversary dates fall from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.  As outlined in an earlier general notification, this temporary measure is a result of significant funding reductions and state support and is intended to avoid the possible need for furloughs, reduced work hours or layoffs.
