Immunizations/Prevention
SARS - The CDC recommends getting a flu shot every year. This year it
is especially important due to SARS
Annual Immunization Requirements
If all of your immunizations are complete when you come to school, you will
only have to remember to get an Annual TB screening.
If you have ever had a positive TB skin test, you will need to be screened
every year for symptoms of TB, but you will not get another TB skin test.
Annual screening is available at student health
However, your tetanus immunization must be renewed every 10 years. If your
tetanus immunization expires while you are in school, you will need another
one.
Exemption from Immunization/Screens
You may be exempted from immunization or screens for health/medical or
religious reasons.
To establish eligibility, you must speak with the immunization clinic nurse.
You will never get another TB skin test if you have had a previous TB skin
test that is positive. To verify this, you must speak with the immunization
clinic nurse.
If you have ever had a positive TB skin test, you will need to be screened
every year for symptoms of TB.
Screening is available at student health
