Immunizations/Prevention

The CDC recommends getting a flu shot every year.

Annual Immunization Requirements

If all of your immunizations are complete when you come to school, you will only have to remember to get an annual flu vaccine and TB screening.

If you have ever had a positive TB skin test, you will need to be screened every year for symptoms of TB, but you will not get another TB skin test. Annual screening forms for positive TB tests are available on the landing page of the student health website.

Your tetanus immunization must be renewed every 10 years. If your tetanus immunization expires while you are in school, you will need another one.

Exemption from Immunization/Screens

You may be exempted from immunizations or screens for health/medical or religious reasons.  Any refusals must be submitted in writing via email to LSU Health Sciences Center Student Health Services and the Student Affairs Office of the school you are attending.
