Employee Relations is a resource for conflict resolution, facilitating difficult conversations, fostering productive working environments and ensuring compliance. Employee Relations process and help resolve employee complaints, coach and work with managers to prepare and deliver disciplinary actions for employees.

Employee Accommodation Procedures

  • The employee should contact HRMADA@lsuhsc.edu to begin the interactive process
  • The employee should complete and submit the Employee Request for Reasonable Accommodation Form.
  • The employee’s healthcare provider should complete and submit the Accommodation Request Medical Inquiry Form as necessary for any disability or need that is not obvious.
  • The employee will participate in an interactive process meeting with the Employee Relations Manager to discuss specific needs and accommodation requests.
  • The Employee Relations Manager will discuss the implementation of reasonable accommodations with the employee’s supervisor.
  • The employee and Employee Relations Manager will have ongoing communication about the effectiveness of the accommodation.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) was established to provide employees and their families with opportunities to obtain assistance for a variety of personal problems which may affect their continued functioning as productive members of the University community or society at large.

LSU Health New Orleans Ombuds Office

Associate Ombuds- Catherine Briley, JD

The Ombuds is a trained mediator and is available to resolve conflict through an informal process. The conflict resolution never goes into the employee's HR file or the student's record (since this is an informal process, no records are kept). Using the Ombuds' services is a favorable option for employees who want to improve their working environment without involving HR or Compliance. The ombuds informally mediate or negotiates dispute resolutions. 

Associate Ombuds serves LSU Health New Orleans and LSU Health Shreveport.

Power Based Violence or Title IX Misconduct
