LSUHSC-NO Quality Enhancement Plan:

"Be Well - Student Success and Wellness"

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) is committed to fostering a healthier Louisiana through education, research, health care, and community partnerships. As a leading academic health sciences center with six schools, LSUHSC-NO plays a pivotal role in shaping the future health professions workforce.

Recognizing the crucial connection between student wellness and success, LSUHSC-NO has identified student wellness as a strategic priority. This commitment stems from the understanding that student success—encompassing academic achievement, engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being—directly impacts not only students' personal and professional outcomes but also the quality of patient care they provide.

Through the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) titled "Be Well: Student Success and Wellness", LSUHSC-NO aims to enhance student success and wellness by achieving two primary goals:

  1. Fostering Well-Being: Cultivate an environment that promotes first-year students’ awareness of their mental, physical, and financial health.
  2. Providing Support Programs: Offer initiatives to enrich the student experience, fostering academic health and overall wellness.

The QEP focuses on four key pillars: mental, physical, financial, and academic health. These areas are vital to equipping students with the resources and skills they need to thrive personally, academically, and professionally.
