New Blue Bike Station On Campus

A new Blue Bike station has been installed across the street from the Resource Center building, on the corner of Bolivar & Gravier streets.

Blue Bikes is a bike share program for the city of New Orleans. For more information, check out their website at http://nola.socialbicycles.com/.

Rent a bike to ride downtown for a Saints game or for Carnival festivities!

The Dental Campus (and Library) are closed today (1/3/18). There is no running water on campus.

Winter Break Hours

The Isché Library will begin Winter Break Hours on Sunday, December 17th and will be open from 12 noon to 8:30 pm. From Monday, December 18th through Friday, December 22nd, the Isché Library will be open from 8am to 6pm.

The Dental Library will begin Winter Break Hours on Monday, December 18th and will continue through Friday, December 22nd. The Dental Library will be open from 8am to 5pm.

Both Libraries will be closed Saturday, December 23rd through Tuesday, January 2nd for the University Holiday.

Campus Closure – Nate

The Isché Library will close at 7pm this evening and remain closed all weekend in preparation for Hurricane Nate.

The Dental Library will close at 5pm as usual and remain closed all weekend as well.

Both Libraries plan on reopening at 8am on Monday, October 9th weather permitting.

Pay Paw Update!

All new LSUHSC ID’s issued beginning August 2017 will have Pay paw capabilities automatically activated within 24-48 hours. In order to add money for the first time, students, faculty, and staff may use one of the Pay paw machines on campus, go to the bookstore, or add it online. With our secure Pay Paw Online Card Office, LSUHSC ID holders or their relatives may deposit money using a credit card online.

Replacement ID’s will still need to be taken to the Bookstore to transfer Paypaw accounts.

Pay paw is a LSUHSC based transaction system that allows faculty, staff, and students to access, without cash, a variety of goods and service throughout the campus:

• Vending machines at most locations

• Food services in the Medical Education Building
• Food services at the LSU School of Dentistry
• MEB Atrium Coffee Kiosk
• Health Sciences and Dental Bookstores
• Copy and Printing Resources at many key locations (including the Dental and John P. Ische Libraries!)

Publication Alert! Toddler’s Brain Damage Reversed Thanks to O2 & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

An LSUHSC faculty member, Dr. Paul G. Harch,  has written a case report about a toddler who has been treated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and her improvement from brain damage due to drowning. It has been published in Medical Gas Research. The case report can be found here.
