A new selection of holly, jolly articles have been added to the Faculty Publications display in the Ische Library. These eight articles, as well as all of the articles in our Faculty Publications database, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Publications cited in the Faculty Publications database are harvested weekly from a variety of sources, such as PubMed, SCOPUS, and CINAHL, to name a few. In addition to articles they include books, book chapters, papers, editorials, letters to the editor, and meeting abstracts, all authored by at least one member of the LSUHSC-NO community. The database is maintained by Reference Librarian Kathy Kerdolff and is available to the general public here or via the Library’s webpage. The Libraries will be closed Thursday-Saturday, November 22-24th of Thanksgiving week.
Both Libraries will close early on Wednesday, November 21st; the Isché Library will close at 6pm and the Dental Library will close at 5pm.
Both Libraries will reopen on Sunday, November 25th; the Isché Library will be open from 10am to 12 midnight and the Dental Library will be open from 11:30am to 8pm.
Due to a Power Outage, the Dental School will be closed for the rest of the day. All classes and appointments are cancelled.
Normal hours and operations will resume tomorrow.
The dental library will be closed on Sunday, October 21st due to the scheduled AC shutdown. All students are welcome to use the Isché Library on the downtown campus. It is located on the third floor of the Resource Building, 433 Bolivar Street.
We are sorry for any inconvenience.
Due to HVAC maintenance, the Dental Library will be closed on Sunday, September 9th. There will be no air conditioning in the building on the 8th or 9th.
Both Libraries will be closed Sunday, September 2nd and Monday, September 3rd for the Labor Day holiday. The Isché Library will be open on Saturday, September 1st regular hours from 9:30-6.
Both Libraries will reopen Monday, September 4th; the Dental Library opens at 8am and the Isché Library opens at 7:30am.
The Libraries will be closed on the 4th of July.
Additionally the Isché Library will close at 6pm on Tuesday, July 3rd. Otherwise summer hours remain in effect.
What happens when health-related issues and cartoons merge? A National Library of Medicine exhibit called, “Graphic Medicine: Ill-Conceived and Well-Drawn!”. The exhibit opens this week at the Dental Campus for the following dates of June 13th-29th. Learn about the latest medical oriented graphic novels and their contribution to societal learning. So, check out the National Library of Medicine exhibition; “Graphic Medicine: Ill-Conceived and Well-Drawn!”.
The Exhibition Program at the National Library of Medicine strives to promote greater understanding and awareness of how the past informs the present and can shape the future by creating lively and informative exhibitions and educational resources that enhance awareness of and appreciation for the collections of the National Library of Medicine. These exhibitions and educational resources engage diverse audiences and explore a variety of topics in the history of medicine.
We are cancelling the STAT!Ref dental ebook collection due to the very high cost and lack of funds. This collection will no longer be available in STAT!Ref as of July 1st. We are currently working on replacing the content in other online formats and/or in print, so some titles from the cancelled collection will eventually be available again. Please contact the Dental Library for a list of those titles, or for information on other related resources.

Summer hours at both the Dental & Isché Libraries begin June 1 and run through July 31.
The Dental Library will close at 6pm Monday – Thursday and at 5pm on Fridays. The Dental Library will be closed on weekends.
The Isché Library will close at 10pm Sunday – Thursday and at 6pm on Fridays. Saturday hours will remain the same, 9:30am to 6pm.
Opening hours at both Libraries will remain the same, weekdays at 8am and noon on Sundays at Isché.
Easter Eggs
The Isché & Dental Libraries will be closed Friday, March 30th through Sunday, April 1st for Easter. The Isché Library will close at 6pm on Thursday, March 29th and the Dental Library will close at 5pm on that day.
Both Libraries will reopen on Monday, April 2nd at 8am.
Rex 2012 on Napoleon Avenue
The Libraries will have reduced hours over the final weekend of carnival through Mardi Gras day.
The Isché Library will close at 5pm on Friday, February 9th and will be open regular hours, 9:30am-6pm, on Saturday, February 10th. On Sunday, February 11th the downtown library will be open from 12 noon to 8:30pm and on Monday, February 12th from 8am to 5pm.
The Dental Library will close at 5pm on Friday, February 9th and remain closed on Saturday, February 10th as usual. On Sunday February 11th the Dental Library will be open regular hours from 11:30am to 8pm and on Monday, February 12th from 8am to 5pm.
Both Libraries will be closed on Tuesday, February 13th, a university holiday.
The Dental Library has upgraded its security gate.
Because of the installation of this new gate, the double door entrance will now act as both the entrance and exit.
Both Libraries and both campuses are open once again. Fingers crossed for no more freezing weather!
