Libraries are Closed for Winter Break

Both the Libraries are now closed for Winter Break. We will reopen on Monday, January 4th at 8am with our Phase 3 hours.

Electronic Resources are available while we are closed, refer to our Off Campus Access page for assistance.

Winter Break Hours

The Isché Library will begin Winter Break hours on Monday, December 21st. The Library will close at 6pm from the 21st through the 23rd. The Dental Library will maintain its shorter Phase 3 hours.

Both the Isché and Dental Libraries will be closed December 24th through January 3rd. Both Libraries will resume Phase 3 hours when we reopen in January.

Journal of the Louisiana Public Health Association

This brand new publication was developed in partnership with LSU Health – New Orleans School of Public Health and the Louisiana Public Health Association and will focus on public health initiatives throughout the state.

Winter Faculty Publications

A final selection of articles for this year has been added to the Faculty Publications display in the Ische Library. These eight articles, as well as all of the articles in our Faculty Publications database, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Each month the Library is proud to present copies of eight of these publications in a rotating display of 16. With the currently changes, we’ve decided to post the publications digitally. Check out the display below:


Publications cited in the Faculty Publications database are harvested weekly from a variety of sources, such as PubMedSCOPUS, and CINAHL, to name a few. In addition to articles they include books, book chapters, papers, editorials, letters to the editor, and meeting abstracts, all authored by at least one member of the LSUHSC-NO community. The database is maintained by Reference Librarian Kathy Kerdolff and is available to the general public here or via the Library’s webpage. Thanksgiving Hours

The Libraries (both Dental and Isché) will be closed Thursday-Saturday, November, 26-28. Additionally, the Isché Library will be closing at 6pm on Wednesday, November 25. The Isché Library will be open on Sunday, November 29.

The Libraries continue to be in Phase 3 for our regular hours. Also, the Libraries continue to be open to badge holders only.

Libraries Open

The LSUHSC Libraries (both downtown and Dental) are open today, their normal hours. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, all campuses continue to be limited to badge holders.

Libraries Early Closure 10/28/2020 – Hurricane Zeta

Another week, another Hurricane… the Libraries will close at noon on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 due to threat from Hurricane Zeta. We hope to reopen on Thursday, October 29th at our regular time of 8am.

Libraries closing at 3pm, October 9th

The Libraries will close at 3pm on October 9, 2020, as a result of expected conditions with the approach and landfall of Hurricane Delta.

The Dental Library is closed on Saturday per their current LSUHSC-NO Phase 2 schedule, but the Isché Library anticipates being open as usual at 9:30am on Saturday, October 10th.

Campus Closure 9/15/2020 – Hurricane Sally

LSUHSC New Orleans campuses (both downtown and Dental) will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday September 15th, in advance of Hurricane Sally.

Additionally the Isché Library will close at 6pm this evening.

We hope to reopen on Wednesday, September 16th at 8am at both Libraries.

Access to Isché Library 9/5/2020

Due to construction work on campus, the Isché Library will be accessible from the 1st floor entrance to the Resource Center Building only. An LSUHSC ID badge is necessary to enter.
