A new selection of articles has been added to the Faculty Publications display in the Ische Library. These eight articles, as well as all of the articles in our Faculty Publications database, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Each month the Library is proud to present copies of eight of these publications in a rotating display of 16. Yellow Fever Vaccine

If you’re up on your New Orleans medical history, you’ll know that the last outbreak of Yellow Fever here was in 1905. Brazil isn’t so lucky and are in the middle of an outbreak. The CDC is recommending a dose of Yellow Fever vaccine before traveling to Brazil or Africa.

Publication Alert! Toddler’s Brain Damage Reversed Thanks to O2 & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

An LSUHSC faculty member, Dr. Paul G. Harch,  has written a case report about a toddler who has been treated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and her improvement from brain damage due to drowning. It has been published in Medical Gas Research. The case report can be found here.
