Libraries and campus closure 7/11-14/19

The LSUHSC New Orleans campuses will remain closed on Thursday, July 11th through Sunday, July 14th ahead of the anticipated tropical weather over the next few days. We plan to reopen on Monday morning.

Campus and Library now closed, July 10th

Due to flooding in the area, the Library and campus is now closed.

Unless notified to the contrary, we will resume normal hours on Thursday, July 11th at 7:30am.

Weather Closure 4/18/19

Due to anticipated severe weather in the New Orleans area, the Chancellor has announced an emergency closure at noon today, April 18, 2019. The text of the email is included below:

Due to the hazardous weather conditions forecast for the metropolitan New Orleans area, LSU Health New Orleans academic downtown and dental campuses will close at 12:00 noon today. Classes, patient appointments and events scheduled on campus this afternoon and evening are cancelled.

At this time, this closure applies only to the academic campus of LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans and the LSU Healthcare Network’s Primary Care and Dental Clinic on the Dental School campus. Hospital and Healthcare Network personnel should follow hospital and HCN emergency procedures and check with their leadership for information and instructions. The LSU Healthcare Network plans to issue a separate communication regarding their other clinic locations.

Ische Library Closing @ 6pm 1/31/19

The Isché Library will close at 6pm on Thursday, January 31st. The Resource Center Building will be without running water from 6-10pm that day.

While the Library Commons will not close, we ask that patrons please use the restrooms in other buildings during this interval.

Ische Library Emergency Closure 1/15/19

The Isché Library will close at 5pm today, January 15th due to a water shut off by the Sewerage and Water Board. There will be no running water in the Resource Center, the Human Development Center and the Seton Building for at least 3 hours.

The Library Commons will probably remain open but please do not attempt to use the restrooms on the 3rd floor without verifying that the water has been restored.

Libraries are Closed

The Libraries are closed for Winter Break. All online resources are available and the Library Commons, downtown, is available as long as the building is open.

Dental School Closure 11/14

Due to a Power Outage, the Dental School will be closed for the rest of the day. All classes and appointments are cancelled.

Normal hours and operations will resume tomorrow.

Dental Library closure – Sunday, October 21st.

The dental library will be closed on Sunday, October 21st due to the scheduled AC shutdown.  All students are welcome to use the Isché Library on the downtown campus.  It is located on the third floor of the Resource Building, 433 Bolivar Street.

Downtown Library Closed – Saturday, October 13th

The Ische Library will be closed on Saturday, October 13, 2018 for AC maintenance. There will be no air conditioning in the building from 6am to 5pm. The Library Commons might be closed (or really hot) during this outage.

Ische Library Closed – Saturday 9/15/18

The Ische Library will be closed on Saturday, September 15, 2018 for AC maintenance. There will be no air conditioning in the building from 6am to 8pm. The Library Commons maybe closed (or really hot) during this outage.

Libraries Closing 9/4 @ 5pm

The Libraries will be closed at 5pm today due to Tropical Storm Gordon.

Isché Library — Early Closure 5/18/2018

The Isché Library will close at 5pm on Friday, May 18th due to a chilled water outage in the Resource Center Building from 5pm until 12am. During the outage there will not be any air conditioning anywhere in the entire building.

Campus Closure Extended Again

Both the downtown and the dental campuses will remain closed on Friday, January 19th. The rest of the weekend is a question mark, depending on water pressure.

If water pressure to our buildings improves, then the downtown library will open on Saturday and both libraries will reopen on Sunday.

*Edit* water pressure continues to be insufficient for plumbing use. The Libraries remain closed for the weekend.

Campus Closure Extended

Due to anticipated poor weather conditions. The entire campus will be shutting down at 3pm today. The Libraries and both the downtown and dental campuses will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17th. The Libraries plan to reopen on Thursday, January 18th at 8am. Dental Campus & Library

The Dental Campus (and Library) are closed today (1/3/18). There is no running water on campus.
