App to Stay in Touch

The Libraries can now offer mobile services (chat, email, etc) from the Ask-a-Librarian app; it is available from Amazon, Google Play and iTunes.

Our services can be discovered in 2 ways:
1. Either search for nearby libraries; we are currently the only ones using this service in Louisiana. (However there is a known bug with users who have Android 6/Marshmallow, so uncheck the location box if this is your phone/tablet.)
2. Or search for LSU.

You will find links for both Reference and the Dental Library.

Chat Service Expands Hours

The Ask a Librarian/Chat Box, available from the Libraries’ webpage, has been so popular since the?áJanuary redesign that staffing hours are expanding.?á

The Service will now be available for most of the hours that the Isch?® Library is open. Hours will now be 8:30 am to 9:30 pm Monday through Thursday, Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 10 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday 2 pm to 9:30 pm.

Additionally, the Dental Library has it’s own?áAsk a Dental Librarian/Chat Box on it’s main page with staffing hours that match it’s opening and closing schedule.

It’s easy to tell if someone is available to answer your question by looking at the chat box.

Of course, Library Staff are still available for assistance in person, on the phone or by email, too.

Library Help & Live Chat

If you have ever been off campus and stuck doing research- there’s no need to go through it alone!

Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. you can connect live with a reference librarian.

If you have questions outside of these times you can always send an email to our Reference Address.

Online guides and tutorials are also available to help you navigate through common research problems.

The Library is here to serve patrons so never hesitate to ask for help!
