Starting Monday, 6/13/2022, contractors will begin repairing the exterior walls and windows in the Dental Library. The perimeter of the Library will be blocked off and there will be some noise, especially at the beginning of the project. Construction is expected to take 3-4 weeks.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. If you need a quiet place to study, please use the Isché Library on the downtown campus. It is on the 3rd floor of the Administration and Resource Building at 433 Bolivar St.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this process.
A new selection of articles have been added to the Faculty Publications display in the Ische Library. These eight articles, as well as all of the articles in our Faculty Publications database, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Each month the Library is proud to present copies of eight of these publications in a rotating display of 16. With the currently changes, we’ve decided to post the publications digitally. Check out the display below:
Publications cited in the Faculty Publications database are harvested weekly from a variety of sources, such as PubMed, SCOPUS, and CINAHL, to name a few. In addition to articles they include books, book chapters, papers, editorials, letters to the editor, and meeting abstracts, all authored by at least one member of the LSUHSC-NO community. The database is maintained by Reference Librarian Kathy Kerdolff and will be available to the general public here or via the Library’s webpage. A PDF of a bibliography of this month’s addition will be available here.
A special thank you to Kathy Kerdolff for doing an amazing job curating the most recent publications from Faculty, Residents, and Students to be displayed each month for so many years.
We are happy to share that starting today we now have subscribed access to JAMA Cardiology. Our access starts with the first issue published in 2016.
You can find links to the journal in INNOPAC, our online catalog, the E-Journals & E-Books A to Z List, and through the WebBridge LR and LibKey Link link resolvers. The journal can also be accessed directly by going to https://ezproxy.lsuhsc.edu/login?url=https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology, but please remember that you will be asked to login if you are off campus. In addition, you can get to JAMA Cardiology and all other JAMA Network journals we subscribe to by logging in directly using OpenAthens.

The Isché Library will close at 6pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022 for emergency electrical repairs in the building. While the Library Commons may be open, it will be on emergency lighting only and will not have air conditioning until 10pm.
Once again masking will be required while on campus starting on Thursday, May 26, 2022. The requirement is for surgical or KN95 or N95 masks.
From the Interim Chancellor’s email:
To that end, we will require masking in all campus facilities effective Thursday, May 26. 2022. We are requiring a surgical-grade mask that is snugly placed, covering the nose and mouth. KN-95 masks are also acceptable and required for those exposed or recently returning from a previous case of COVID. Of course, the campus clinic can provide further information.
On May 19, 2022, starting at 11pm all Lippincott Williams and Wilkins (LWW) journals and other journals on the Ovid platform will be unavailable for approximately an hour.
Some LWW journals are available via alternate methods, but hopefully this outage will prove to be just a slight interruption.

A project to cut through the walls on the 5th Floor is set to start on Thursday, April 28, 2022, and is to last for two months. There will be considerable noise in the area.
Once we learned this project was proceeding we asked it be delayed until after exams, but it will begin on Thursday.
The Libraries will be closed Friday, April 15-17 for the University Easter Holiday. Both the Isché and Dental Libraries will close at 6pm on Thursday, April 14th. Both Libraries will re-open at 8am on Monday, April 18.
