UPDATE: The problem appears to be fixed as of 2:45pm 12/11/2023, but if you encounter any problems please contact us.
If you are trying to access a Wiley book or journal with a link that goes through our EZproxy system, those are currently not working correctly. All EZproxy users are experiencing this problem, and it affects links to Wiley titles in the Library’s catalog and the E-Journals & E-Books A to Z List. In all instances, there is a Cloudflare connection check, and the EZproxy links are stalling and will not redirect to the content after logging in.
Until this problem is fixed, you can access Wiley journals and books directly by using OpenAthens.
Next, click on Institutional Login at the bottom right of the box:
Then, click on Sign in with your OpenAthens account:
On the next screen, enter LSU and click on LSU Health Sciences CenterLibrary:
Then you will be able to enter your LSUHSC-NO full e-mail address and current password, after which you can access all of the Wiley titles we have access to through our subscriptions.
If you are attempting to get to an article in a Wiley journal from databases such as PubMed, Scopus, etc., those links appear to be working as expected.
We will update when we have more information about this issue, but if you need any help with this or other Library resources please contact us.
UPDATE: Logging in using an email or via OpenAthens at publishers’ sites is working again.
Wednesday, December 6, 2023: Logging in using your LSUHSC-NO email address to use Library resources is currently unavailable. The OpenAthens service is experiencing an outage, and that is preventing us from using that option both through our EZproxy service and directly at publisher’s websites.
Until this problem is resolved, there is an alternate way to log into Library resources. When you see this screen, click on the green bar:
Then, enter your username (without the @lsuhsc.edu), and your current password in the two boxes:
We will update when we have more information about this problem, but if you need assistance please contact us.
A new selection of articles has been added to the Faculty Publications display in the Isché Library. These eight articles, as well as all the articles in LSU Health Digital Scholar, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Each month the Library is proud to present copies of eight of these publications in a rotating display of 16. Check out the display below:

UPDATE: The OpenAthens issue has been resolved, so logging in with emails via EZproxy and directly at publisher sites is working again.
Original Post: There are problems with the OpenAthens service that is preventing using an email to log into Library resources both through EZproxy and directly at publishers’ sites.
They are working on the problem as it is affecting all users, so until that time when you land on the EZproxy login page, expand the green box and enter your username (without the @lsuhsc.edu part) and your current network password:
Please remember barcodes are no longer accepted.
We will update when we have more information, but if you need assistance to get into any Library resources, please contact us.
INNOPAC, the Library Catalog, will be unavailable for a couple of hours starting at 11pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. The outage is necessary for a system update.
The majority of Library resources will still be available during this time.
We are happy to report that through the great generosity of Quintessence Publishing we are able to provide easier access to their journals.
Now, instead of having to log in with a password, you can get to the full text of Quintessence journals by logging in via EZproxy when prompted. The records in our online catalog for the affected journals are updated to reflect this change, and you can get to those journals by clicking on the links on this page.
There are some issues with the links on the E-Books & E-Journals A to Z List, but we will have these updated to use the new access method as soon as we can.
This new access method is accompanied by a revamp of many of the Quintessence journal sites. There are a couple of things to look out for when trying to access the full text of articles on these new pages.
First, to get the PDF of an article, click the “Full Text” link underneath the article’s title to the left, and ignore the greyed out PDF link to the right:
Second, to browse through the issues of a title, scroll down when on the journal’s main page:
We hope this makes accessing content from the Quintessence journals easier. We would also like to thank Quintessence Publishing for their generosity in providing complimentary access to many of the journals we receive from them.
If you need help with this or any other Library resources, please contact us.
