Isché Library – 5th Floor Construction

A temporary wall was put up on the 5th floor of the Isché Library over the winter break holiday. Library staff are unclear as to the length and scope of work occurring on the 5th floor. It appears part of the floor will be converted to non-library offices. We apologize for any noise or inconvenience this causes.

The water fountain on the 5th floor is now behind the wall so please use the fountains on the 4th or 3rd floors.

January Faculty Publications

A new selection of articles have been added to the Faculty Publications display in the Ische Library. These eight articles, as well as all of the articles in our Faculty Publications database, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Each month the Library is proud to present copies of eight of these publications in a rotating display of 16. With the currently changes, we’ve decided to post the publications digitally. Check out the display below:

Publications cited in the Faculty Publications database are harvested weekly from a variety of sources, such as PubMedSCOPUS, and CINAHL, to name a few. In addition to articles they include books, book chapters, papers, editorials, letters to the editor, and meeting abstracts, all authored by at least one member of the LSUHSC-NO community. The database is maintained by Reference Librarian Kathy Kerdolff and will be available to the general public here or via the Library’s webpage. A PDF of a bibliography of this month’s addition is available here. If you have an article you would like us to highlight or if you have any questions regarding the display or the database, you can contact Kathy Kerdolff.

Retracted article alerts now available in LibKey products

It’s a lot easier to know whether an article you’re reading or would like to cite has been retracted with new features available in LibKey Nomad, LibKey Link, and LibKey.io. These tools now make it easier than ever to see that something has happened to a published article and has been retracted.

If you use LibKey Nomad, you will see in your search results in many databases that the article has been retracted:

These alerts extend to LibKey Link and LibKey.io when you see this screen with options for getting the original article:

Finally, if you have LibKey Nomad and go to a publisher’s site for an article, you will see this icon displayed at the bottom of the page for a retracted article:
