If you follow the Library’s link to PubMed where you are asked to log in through EZproxy, please note there is a problem when attempting to log into your myNCBI/PubMed account using the third party/federated logins such as Google and Login.gov. After following the Library’s link to PubMed and then logging into your myNCBI/PubMed account, you will most likely encounter an error message or just a blank screen.
At present, the only login that will work if you use the Library’s link to PubMed is the old NCBI account login, but only if you went through the transition steps before this login option was phased out in June.
If you did not transition this account, you will not be able to create a new one at this time.
Please remember that creating a myNCBI/PubMed account will not grant you access to journals. This account just provides the ability to save searches and create search alerts.
However, if you would like to use your myNCBI/PubMed account and have easy access to articles in journals the Library subscribes to, we recommend the following:
Install LibKey Nomad in your browser; it can be used in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge; you can also install LibKey Nomad in Chrome found in your Citrix desktop
Log in to your myNCBI/PubMed account using the federated method you choose (Google, Login.gov, etc.)
With these above steps, you will have easy access to full text with LibKey Nomad yet still have the ability to work with your myNCBI/PubMed account.
Additionally, please note that we do not support the Research Institution login at this time. As a result, you will need to use one of the other login options listed for the myNCBI/PubMed account. We will update when there is a change to this.

A new selection of articles have been added to the Faculty Publications display in the Ische Library. These eight articles, as well as all of the articles in our Faculty Publications database, are authored by at least one member of our research community here at LSUHSC-New Orleans. Each month the Library is proud to present copies of eight of these publications in a rotating display of 16. With the currently changes, we’ve decided to post the publications digitally. Check out the display below:
Publications cited in the Faculty Publications database are harvested weekly from a variety of sources, such as PubMed, SCOPUS, and CINAHL, to name a few. In addition to articles they include books, book chapters, papers, editorials, letters to the editor, and meeting abstracts, all authored by at least one member of the LSUHSC-NO community. The database is maintained by Reference Librarian Kathy Kerdolff and will be available to the general public here or via the Library’s webpage. A PDF of a bibliography of this month’s addition is available here. If you have an article you would like us to highlight or if you have any questions regarding the display or the database, you can contact Kathy Kerdolff.
The Isché Library will reduce its hours beginning on Sunday, August 8th.
The hours will be Monday-Thursday 8am – 8pm Friday 8am – 6pm Saturday 9:30am – 6pm Sunday 11:30am – 8pm
These hours will be allow Library staff to better socially distance while also keeping the Library open 7 days per week.

The Libraries’ interlibrary loan interface, ILLiad, has a planned upgrade on Tuesday, August 3rd from 12noon-2pm. The software will be unavailable during that window. Thanks for your patience.
The Isché Library has a new Microfiche/Microfilm scanner available for use. It is housed on the 3rd floor near the circulation desk. Material can be scanned to a thumb drive or printed. There is no charge for printing. Please ask at the Circulation Desk for assistance.
The Department of Physical Therapy has set up a trial of McGraw-Hill’s AccessPhysiotherapy and the F.A. Davis PT ebooks collection through August 6th. For more information see our Trial Access LibGuide.
The Library has created a new display in 3 sections of the Commons cases. The display honors Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Joseph M. Moerschbaecher, III, PhD, who spent nearly 40 years of his career at LSUHSC. Dr. M passed away July 1, 2021. He was hired in the Department of Pharmacology in 1983.
Dr. Moerschbaecher helped create the space that is now the Library Commons (2009) and he enjoyed selecting material for the display cases. Many of the medicine bottles in the cases closest to the Library entrance were from his collections.

*EDIT* The power came back on at 10:45am. The Ische Library re-opened at 11:15 am. Fingers crossed that it stays on!
*EDIT* Spoke to soon and jinxed the power. The power to the RCB and the SoN/AH building went out again at 5:30am on Wednesday, the 21st. No estimated repair time at the moment.
Power was restored to the Resource Center Building around 4:30pm on Tuesday, July 20th. The Ische Library will re-open on Wednesday morning at 7:30am. Phew!
*Edit* The latest power restoration is 4pm. The Ische Library will not open today. Hopefully, we’ll be open again tomorrow.
Parts of the downtown campus continue to be without power, including the RCB. The Ische Library will be closed this morning… or until power is restored. The current restoration estimate is 12 noon. Library staff will be working remotely and available via chat/email.
*EDIT* With no power or AC, the Downtown Library closed at 3:15pm. Hopefully we’ll have power again to reopen at 7:30am on 7/20/2021.
The main chat and e-mails for the Library are unavailable because of the power outage affecting the Downtown Campus. Staff is still on site and can be reached via phone.
UPDATE: The link resolver is again working in both the new and classic versions of Web of Science. However, if you wish to use LibKey Nomad with Web of Science, you will need to use the instructions below on how to access the classic version.
The WebBridge LR link resolver is currently not working in both versions of Web of Science. This problem has been reported and we will update when the functionality has been restored.
The new version is now the default view for Web of Science and LibKey Nomad does not work with it now, unfortunately. With the link resolver not working in either version, getting to full text of articles is a bit more difficult, but you can still access the old version of Web of Science where LibKey Nomad works fine,
To get to the classic version of Web of Science click on the Products menu to the right of the screen; there you will see the link for Web of Science (Classic):

All lsuhsc.edu users will now be added to the LSUHSC-New Orleans account. LSUHSC-Shreveport (aka LSU Health Shreveport) users should register with their new lsuhs.edu email to be registered under the Shreveport account. Our libraries are working to identify existing users that have been assigned to the wrong account, and we will try to correct those users as soon as possible.
