Make a Difference in Health Education by Sharing Your Story!

Join the Health Partner Program at LSU Health New Orleans

We need community members like you to help our health students learn! By becoming a Health Partner, you will meet with our first-year health students three times. You will share your health experiences and goals with them. This helps our students learn how to work together in teams.

Benefits of Being a Health Partner:

  • Contribute to the education of LSU Health New Orleans students.
  • Share your health story and goals for educational purposes.
  • Help students develop teamwork skills in healthcare.

What You Need to Do:

  • Be willing to meet with students online (Zoom, Skype, Facetime).
  • Meet with students three times from January to March.
  • Share information about your health, health goals and experiences.
  • Optional activities:
    • Review community health resources suggested by your student team.
    • Attend Health Partner gatherings to learn and share.
    • Attend student presentations on their learning outcomes.
    • Participate in a survey about your experience with the students.

The Health Partner Program is organized by the Office of Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPECP) at LSU Health New Orleans. Our goal is to educate health students using a team-based approach to improve community health outcomes.
