Workers' Compensation coverage is provided to LSU Health - New Orleans employees through the Office of Risk Management, Office of Workers' Compensation, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Students of the university are not covered by this program. All work-related Incidents and accidents should be reported in accordance with the Incident and Accident Reporting and Investigation Policy. Forms and instructions can be found on the Environmental Health and Safety Incident and Accident Reporting webpage.

Workers' Compensation Procedure

  1. Report the Incident: Immediately report any workplace injury to your supervisor, even if it does not require immediate medical evaluation.
  2. Email Your Claim: Send the DA-2000 form to workerscomp@lsuhsc.edu and DA2000@lsuhsc.edu. 
  3. Case Review: The HR team will initiate the claims process with the Sedgwick Claims Team.  Injured employees should adhere to all guidance provided by their health care team to expedite recovery.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services is our designated third-party administrator for workers’ compensation claims.  Following an on-the-job injury, be advised you may be contacted via phone/email by a member of the Sedgwick Claims Processing Team to provide additional information relative to your claim. If your incident happens outside of working office hours, please seek appropriate medical attention immediately, then contact HRM Workers' Compensation on the next working day.
