Our organization is the brainchild of a casual discussion between two students at the School of Public Health. It came down to one realization: the lack of a comprehensible solution to information disparities for International and Out-of-State students. The pursuit to create this student-built association has united students, faculty, and staff across all six schools at the Health Sciences Center, here in New Orleans.
The goal of the ISA is to facilitate an easy transition for international students, from their home countries to the LSUHSC campus. Our collaborative efforts with the Office of International Students(OIS) and the Office of the Vice-Chancellor aim at creating a conducive atmosphere for both international and out-of-state students.
We aim to assist with housing, visa application, health Insurance and to create a supportive network for everyone. We aim to create a forum for FAQs and a platform for conversations about diversity and inclusion on our campuses. We are in collaboration with the School of Medicine as a part of an interdisciplinary global health initiative to assist in application and travel processing for academic purposes.
We acknowledge the support and love of all our peers and supporting faculty members in our endeavor to make Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center a better place for all students.
Sincerely,
